Steve Kincade talked Julie and I into trying a 50k race in the woods. Owen Putnam State Forest near Spencer, Indiana was the venue and a brown-green mud/manure mixture was what everyone was wearing. We ended up finishing in about nine hours after a 5 mile loop and two 13 mile loops. Our ultra running friend Tim East thinks the distance is more like 35 miles.
