Planet Adventure 2005 Update
Steve, Nancy and I (Doug) raced for a fun-packed, challenging, beautiful 14 hours in the 2005 edition of Planet Adventure before deciding to exit the race. A big temperature drop combined with not enough clothing and being caught wet on the paddle after dark got us all a little too cold to continue. But we had a ball. Look for a race recap soon. It was great to see all of our friends. It’s as much a family reunion as a race every year.

Planet Adventure 2005 Cometh
Steve, Nancy and I will be racing together for PA05. Julie and Bill are getting married, and Julie will be racing with Sasquatch for our home race, Planet Adventure. Dave was going to race with us, but the Bandidos needed him, so he’ll be back with them. Bob is sitting the year out. Leslie is having a baby in July or August.
A huge thanks go to Jerry Lyons, Dave Kauffman, Barb Geiler and everyone who made PA05 happen in spite of the circumstances. Team Ragged Glory appreciates you people for your selflessness and your time.

2005 Update – Night Hike Feb 26 – 27
TRG welcomes it’s newest member, Nancy Gawrys. Nancy has raced in a number of local events; many locals know her from her road racing and triathlon days. She’s tough and fun to be around. We’re glad to have her on the team.
We will hold our annual night hike starting about midnight Saturday, Feb 26 to about noon Sunday, Feb 27. The hike will be about 26 miles from the Morgan Monroe State Forest office to Yellowwood Lake. You are invited. If you’re interested, contact me at dtheis@msn.com. We will drop vehicles late Saturday evening at Yellowwood. Naturally, you are responsible for your own gear, foot, safety. Contact me if you’d like to come out and play with us.
TRG’s 2005 racing plans remain a bit unclear. Good news, however; Julie and Bill are engaged to be married and Leslie and Scott are expecting a baby. We will firm up the schedule soon and we look forward to seeing our friends and other racers on the course.

TRG to race AR Nationals at French Lick in November
Bob Mueller, Julie Nor and newest TRG member Dave Tanner will race as TRG in the AR Nationals in November, 2004. Bob, Julie and Greg Arnold qualified for the Nationals by winning the 2004 Indianapolis Race. Since Greg is part of the Nationals race directing team, Bob went on a search for a third and came up with Dave Tanner from Bloomington, Indiana.. Dave has raced a couple of the Planet Adventure races as has been described as a legendary endurance athlete. Thanks Dave, I’m not the oldest member of TRG any more! Say hello to the team if you’ll be at Nationals.

TRG Finishes Planet Adventure 2004
Julie, Bob and Steve finished the awesome course at the fourth Annual Planet Adventure. The weather was beautiful and the course may have been the best yet. I (Doug) quit the race after 9 hours with chest pain, but subsequent tests show all to be okay. Thanks everyone for your e-mails, your kindness and concern. Julie is writing the race report and I’ll post it as soon as it’s finished. Congrats to all the teams who participated, and a special thanks to Kirk Brunso, our new crew guy, who supported us well.
