Circle City Sprint Adventure Race

GlobalX Racing did a great job on the first Circle City Sprint Adventure Race. Jerry, Joe and Greg picked up the race after Wild Onion organizers dropped the Indy Wild Scallion from their schedule. The race was hot, fast and fun. We congratulate the winners, Peoples Burn Foundation, who finished right at fiour hours. Urban Warrriors won the 4 person coed, and True North won the three person coed.

Team Ragged Glory raced in the four person coed division and finished at 4:29, fifth in our division and seventh of 32 teams overall. Bob and Julie have changed the level at which we race, increasing not only the speed of TRG but the fun as well. We’ll have a race recap up in a few days.

Planet Adventure 2003 Update

Julie Nor from Lake Geneva,Wisconsin will race in place of Leslie Shafer for the third installment of Planet Adventure. Leslie found Julie on the Planet Adventure teambuilder site and asked Julie to take her place because of her mounting work, school and personal commitments. Julie works for Young Life and is a marathoner from Taylor University. A friend of mine who knows Julie told me that if he needed a teammate to go far and fast, he’d want Julie. Leslie, we’ll miss you. But we understand. We hope to race with you again. Thanks for finding us a new team member. Welcome, Julie; we’re glad you’re becoming a part of the Team Ragged Glory family. May God bless our third Planet Adventure race.

Preparations for 2002 Indy Sprint Adventure Race

Team Ragged Glory continues to prepare for the third annual Indy Sprint Adventure Race on September 14, 2002 at Eagle Creek. TRG will participate in the long course, as will a new team composed of our friends, Team MMM!. Our long-time crew guy, Bob Mueller, will race with Dennette Miller, a friend Leslie and Doug met running the Indianapolis Mini-Marathon this year, and Jeff Minks, one of Doug’s coworkers and a former Purdue 800 meter track guy. Team MMM! has great native athletic ability and should be a very competitive team in their first adventure race.

On Saturday, August 24, TRG and Team MMM! ran a 7-plus hour simulation and had a great time. We also met some new friends, Jeff and John, who travelled with us in hopes of learning something for when they race in Planet Adventure 2003.

We will be posting more pictures from the Wild Onion soon. Stay tuned.
